**Quality Technical Lead, BRISBANE**

**About the Role**

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our Global Operations team as Quality Technical Lead of our Brisbane operations. This role provides daily management and coordination of all **activities of the operational quality team along with the various departments, producing quality products in a safe environment at the Brisbane plant.** As part of Tate & Lyle's embarkation on a Journey to EHSQS Excellence (J2EE), this role will also lead to EHSQ compliance, sustainable culture change, process improvements, change management, and framework implementation at the site. The role will also lead all incident investigations deemed necessary at the site, drive, train, and coach local operational and EHSQS teams on all Journey related tasks, including digital tools.

**Key Responsibilities**

This is a great opportunity to take a leadership role, within a small plant with Quality and EHS responsibilities. This role has a duo reporting structure (Direct report to the Plant Manager with dotted reporting to the APAC Quality Director based in Singapore).
- Responsible for the provision of support across EHSQ activities and compliance within the site, to ensure the safe operation of our facilities and equipment, the quality of the work we perform, and the safe completion of all tasks without harm to health, safety, the environment, or our customers.
- Actively support and promote the Journey to EHSQS Excellence, through demonstratable best practice sharing, support, and domain expertise with relevant element owners.
- Ensuring compliance with internal, customer, local national, and international standards and legislation.
- Coordinate QA team including direct supervisory responsibility for two Quality Technicians.
- Review and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety programs.
- Assist Area Managers and Supervisors with process troubleshooting for related issues.
- Leading, conducting, and implementing resolutions for audits
- Work with the Business Unit on Customer related Quality and Food Safety issues.
- Investigate and resolve Quality and EHS-related issues
- Management and execution of hold and release of the product in SAP or related programs.
- Management off-spec products and returned products.
- Effectively interact with Production and Development teams to maintain product supply and help introduce new products
- Work with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements from external suppliers.
- Manage the raw material exchange program.
- Provide support to enable and empower our employees and contractors on EHSQ matters to ensure everyone is engaged in shaping our EHSQ programs
- Promote and support the STOP Work process within the organisation
- Deliver comprehensive knowledge and expertise across EHS compliance-related programs, with full implementation of the programs required to maintain full compliance at the site
- Domain expert for all digital tools utilised in the business, e.g. ESG Benchmark (Gensuite), Teams, Sharepoint
- Lead HOP and CI implementation locally for EHSQ projects and programs

**About You**
- BSc degree in Food Science Technology
- Minimum five (5) years of working experience in a Food Technical or Quality focused job.
- ** Experience in the food manufacturing industry is a MUST.**
- Experience in Dairy ingredients is a plus
- Must be persuasive, able to take the initiative, and have the adaptability, and communication skills necessary for success in this position
- Self-motivated
- Ability to build good relationships with internal peers, customer service, and sales
- Good leadership skills, independent thinking, strong organizational and planning abilities, and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Knowledge of food legislations, BRC and ISO.
- Experience in root cause investigation techniques is a big plus
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Experience in leading continuous improvement initiatives of moderate scope and impact
