As part of the finance team, the Finance/Payroll Officer position is responsible for recording financial transactions, maintaining accurate records and providing reports and/or statements to managers.

The focus of this role will oversee the Payroll function which will include management of the Time & Attendance system and be responsible to the end to end payroll functions and reporting. The role works closely with the team to ensure legal and financial compliance and accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions
- Process end to end payroll and maintain employee records whilst ensuring that we maintain compliance with relevant employment conditions and entitlements.
- Preparation and payment of all State and Federal tax obligations including PAYG tax, Payroll tax and Superannuation Guarantee contributions.
- **Management and co-ordination of the Time & Attendance system**:

- Assist in preparing and produce balance sheets, income statements and other financial documents as required.
- Manage inter-company transactions reconciliations and transactions and identify and report any financial or processing irregularities to management.
- Process and manage payments and expenditures, including payroll, superannuation, PAYG, Workcover and Payroll Tax..
- Maintain MYOB files across several entities; and reconcile balance sheet accounts in all MYOB files with correct account balances.
- Accurately and timely recording of the financial transactions of the business in appropriate software, spreadsheets or databases.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare for month end and close off all reports within 5 working days of end of month.
- Complies with all safety requirements and always processes and ensures that any risks to health and safety are avoided, eliminated or mitigated. This includes wearing appropriate PPE and following instructions from Supervisor or Management.
- Identifies and reports safety issues, hazards, incidents and near misses to management as soon as possible. Bring any issues relating to the safe processing of product to the attention of management immediately.
- Avoids any practice or action that places self or other employees at risk of injury or illness.
- Implements key systems and processes as directed to ensure that the processing facility is as efficient and effective as possible.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and system/process efficiency’s.
- Works with suppliers and clients to resolve issues as quickly as possible.
- Minimum 3 years of payroll processing and end to end.
- Solid understanding of accounting, accounts payable & accounts receivable principles
- Proven ability to calculate, post journals and reconcile accounting figures and financial records
- Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software
- Proficiency in English and in MS Office
- Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
