**Your new role**:
The Data Modeller is responsible for facilitating Data Management System optimisation activities across the enterprise. The core function of the role is the conduct of data extraction, processing and modelling in support of Asset Management decision making and Business Performance reporting ensuring optimisation of cost and performance outcomes for the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA).

In your new role you will also contribute to the analysis of new and existing Information Communication and Technology (ICT) solutions in order to implement organisational policies and strategies to support ongoing system optimisation and/or integration.

**Reporting to the Information & Technology Manager you will**:

- Support the Information & Technology Manager in facilitating the optimisation of the organisation's Data Management System across the enterprise.
- Carry out data processing (Extraction, Transformation and Load) activities, modelling, statistical analysis and reporting functions.
- Contribute to the ongoing development, implementation, verification and validation of data sets that are generated in support of both Asset Management and Business Performance reporting.
- Prepare reports to support business cases and decision making using the outputs from analysis activities.
- Assist with defining and executing ad-hoc, exploratory and proof of concept data analysis activities.
- Support Data Management System development and integration activities to optimise enterprise efficiency.
- Contribute to the evaluation of business requirements for ICT system optimisation / integration.
- Communicate effectively to enterprise stakeholders.
- Manage own elements of allocated work.
- Manage closure of allocated activities to agreed standards and schedules.
- Support the Business Improvement team documents, artefacts and reports.
- Drive and participate in continuous improvement initiatives associated with the Team and the WAMA enterprise.

**About you**:
**As an applicant for this opportunity, you'll have**:

- Qualifications in a data engineering or relevant equivalent experience (desirable).
- Familiarity with collection, manipulation and quantitative analysis of technical and/or business performance data.
- Advanced MS Excel and Access skills including ability to script code in VBA, Power Query, and SQL.
- Experience with Business Intelligence reporting (e.g. PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos).
- Experience of using a range of analytical software tools demonstrating the capability to learn new technical software and associated techniques.
- Must be eligible for an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
