Acute pain nurses work under the Department of Anaesthesia, and paly a vital role in the clinical services offered by the department. In addition to the clinical role of management of acute pain services and providing advice to other clinical departments on pain management, acute pain nurses play a vital role in staff education, policy and guidelines review, multidisciplinary teams and pain research. Acute pain nurses at Maroondah are supported by our experienced anaesthetists and our anaesthetic trainees, with input from other departments including pharmacy, palliative care and addiction medicine. In addition, the Anaesthetic Department is supportive of ongoing professional development in this role; and will offer the opportunity to occasionally perform APS rounds at Box Hill Hospital in lieu of Maroondah Hospital by prior arrangement with the Anaesthetic Director at Maroondah Hospital and the APS lead at Box Hill Hospital.**About you**
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Demonstrated experience in acute pain management and/or related disciplines
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australian (NMBA) via AHPRA
- Post Registration or Post Graduate qualification or further study in Pain Management (this is essential for CNC role, can be employed as a CNS whilst working towards this).
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills

Vaccination against infectious disease is a mandatory requirement of this role. An offer of employment is conditional on you providing evidence that you are currently vaccinated against COVID-19 with booster & Influenza, prior to commencing employment.**What we offer**
