**Role Responsibilities**
- Provide guidance to Project Managers to cost and budget for new and existing projects, contracts and funding opportunities
- Provide specialist support in building project financial cost formation-forecasting capability through continued improvement of the forecasting model and integration with existing systems.
- Act as liaison between finance staff / business support team to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the project management and cost and investigate any variances.
- Provide assistance and support to the wider Project/Management Accounting team as and when required, including input to Budget & Programming, Government reporting or returns
- Establish and maintain project financial reporting standards and integrate project financial reporting into project portfolio/Directorate reporting.
- Provide timely and proactive specialist advice to various stakeholders on the financial health of the project portfolio/Directorate.
- The role will include regional site visits.

**Essential Skills or Experience**

- Comprehensive skill, knowledge and experience in:

- a Project Accountant or similar role in large project environment
- project budgeting, forecasting, cost control and financial analysis best practices
- coaching, influencing and advising other to adopt financial management best practices
- financial accounting systems
- building and enhancing stakeholder relationship
- written communication, negotiation and facilitation

**Desirable Skills or Experience**:

- Possession of a tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Finance or Accounting that provides eligibility for membership to CA, CPA or IPA.
- Substantial knowledge, understanding and experience in working with Financial Management systems in large organisations.

**_NB: A current National Police Clearance will be required prior to commencement._
