**About the Role**

The Media and Public Relations Lead will ensure all media and events are organised and of high quality while ensuring all relationships with key stakeholders are maintained. You will ensure any potential media issues are identified early and develop strategies to manage these risks.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement a schedule of potential proactive media opportunities.
- Work collaboratively with and provide support to the manager, branch staff and divisional colleagues to aid prioritisation of goals and resources.
- Compliance with whole-of-Victorian Government media, events, communications, social media and other relevant policies and protocols.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including Ministerial and Premier’s office staff and senior executives.
- Lead and manage the seamless delivery of high quality ministerial events including event logistics, content and briefing packs - paying attention to detail, delivery and budget.
- Deliver high-quality and compelling written content including, speeches, briefs, media releases, forewords, correspondence, newsletter content, case studies, media Q&A’s and media key messages.

**Skills and Experience**
- Experience working in a government media role is essential
- Professional journalism and/or media experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of what makes a good media story and how to respond to media enquiries.
- Experience in pitching potential opportunities and organising Ministerial media events.
