**The Role**
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) are seeking a dedicated and skilled individual for the role of APS6 Security Facilities Advisor and become a valuable addition to the team. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact supporting the implementation and delivery of continuous naval shipbuilding within the Henderson precinct in Western Australia. In this role, you will contribute to the NCB Mission through interpreting and providing advice across the broader security and facilities management functions based on legislation, policy, standards and procedures.

The APS6 Security and Facilities Advisor is accountable to maintain knowledge currency of the Protective Security Policy Framework, and the Defence Security Principles Framework and how they influence NCB’s mission and policy requirements.

The key responsibilities are:

- Preparing and delivering security training, inductions, and briefings.
- Providing advice on protective security, including physical, information, cyber, and personnel security.
- Analysing security data, trends, and preparing submissions.
- Facilitating security clearances and managing security policies and procedures.
- Maintaining security registers, attending committee meetings, and supporting Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) governance for industry partners.
- Managing identity verification for Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Identity Card program.
- Coordinating facility security accreditations and certifications.
- Supporting information management per Defence security policies.
- Managing stakeholders and representing Defence and NCB interests.
- Providing client service and support for building and asset matters.
- Handling maintenance requests, managing deliveries, and assisting with infrastructure projects.
- Overseeing procurement, contracts, and leases related to facilities.
- Managing accommodation forecasting and functional reporting for NCB in Western Australia.

**About our Team**
Naval Construction Branch (NCB) is accountable for the assurance of ship construction, set-to work and transit of vessels constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard and Henderson precinct. We are headquartered in Osborne, SA and have a detachment in Henderson, WA and a smaller presence in Port Macquarie, NSW.

NCB is furthering continuous naval shipbuilding and growing sovereign capability by overseeing the construction to ensure quality and standards are met, storing lessons learnt and developing standard shipbuilding procedures for construction. NCB will oversee the construction of many different Navy vessels including Offshore Patrol Vessels, Hunter Class Frigates, Young Endeavour, Mine Hunter Vessels, Evolved Cape Class and Pacific Patrol Boats.

Working at NCB will enable you to be at the grassroots of continuous naval shipbuilding, where you are part of a working shipyard, being able to see and contribute to the vessels delivered and used in Service by Navy. NCB currently has highly skilled and diverse shipbuilding experience which will be shared to grow your hands-on construction knowledge. You will work alongside Navy personnel, internal project management officers and Prime contractors. The opportunity for technical staff to undertake industry placement is also available.
- Experience in security, facilities management or related area ideally within a government or Defence setting.
- Strong understanding of protective security protocols and facilities management principles.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to build relationships and liaise with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external.
