The Essential Services Commission is looking for a professional and passionate Evaluation Analyst to join our Regulatory, Monitoring and Evaluation group. If you are ethical, responsive, accountable, have an inquiring mind and enjoy building inclusive relationships, this position may be for you.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Director, Evaluation and Advice the Evaluation Analyst is responsible for contributing to the achievement of the Commission’s objectives across regulated industries. This includes assisting in a range of activities such as interpreting trends in market performance to provide performance information to consumers, together with performance feedback and guidance to regulated entities.

To be successful in this role, you will require strong verbal and written communication skills and be able to liaise effectively, including consulting and negotiating, with a range of stakeholders. You will have the ability to think analytically, creatively and laterally and exercise independent judgement, and be able to understand legislation, policies, procedures and information management.

You will have demonstrated experience in preparing communication materials and business documents and undertaking data collection and analysis to make informed recommendations based on information.

A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline, such as Commerce, Business, Law or Economics will be highly desirable, along with experience in a regulatory environment and/or regulatory scheme administration and knowledge of the legislation relevant to the Commission.

**About the Commission**

The Commission adds long-term value to the South Australian community by meeting its objective through independent, ethical and expert regulatory decisions and advice. We are a statutory authority established as an independent economic regulator and advisory body to protect the long-term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services.

Our role incorporates licensing, consumer protection, service standards, pricing, monitoring, compliance and public reporting in the water, electricity and gas industries, and access regulation of essential ports and rail infrastructure. We also provide advice and conduct Inquiries to inform the South Australian Government on economic and regulatory policy issues, and provide advice to local government.
