As a Technical Lead, your role is to work with Tribe/Platform leaders and the Engineering Practice to design, develop and implement improvements our capability in Engineering including people, tools, culture, and way of working. As the Technical Lead, you have the unique position of understanding our primary customers - delivery teams and developers across Suncorp. Your purpose is to use this position to help drive, maintain, and improve services for our customers. Be challenged, inspire and be your best

**What you'll do**
- Technically lead your team, by practicing what you preach. Use the right tools/processes/culture in your team to get quality and secure code out to production fast.
- Coach and mentor engineers to improve their engineering capabilities and embed good practices.
- Be the first point of contact for questions from other engineers within the Tribe/Platform teams, and act as the conduit between the team and Domain technical leaders.
- Evangelise secure software development principles within the team through practices such as code reviews in line with the Secure Software Development Lifecycle and threat modelling.
- Develop a highly collaborative working relationship with delivery teams and their stakeholders.

**What you'll bring**
- 5+ years software engineering experience with at least 3+ years of technical leadership
- Experience in Java/Spring-boot and/or React is preferred.
- Experience and knowledge in pricing engines (FJA/CAPE/EARNIX) are highly regarded.
- Previous experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
- Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Proven ability to identify, capture & resolve complex issues.
