**What we do**:

- At the Divisional level, we enable and manage the safe trade in aquatic and terrestrial animals, reproductive materials, animal and biological products, through the development and implementation of effective, defensible and lawful biosecurity regulation and policy. We protect, maintain and improve animal and marine health for Australia.
- Our work brings both challenges and opportunities because we operate in an environment of changing risks, with disease risks influenced by patterns of global trade, climate change and the emergence of new diseases, as well as trade, legal and regulatory risks.
- At the Branch level, we operationalise biosecurity policies to allow for the safe movement of animals, animal products, genetic material, and microorganisms into Australia.
- Our work includes interacting with domestic and international industry stakeholders, developing effective import conditions in-line with regulatory requirements and providing technical guidance to support the management of imported goods.
- We also participate in domestic and overseas verification activities including the auditing of international manufacturing and biosecurity facilities.

- Problem-solve and appropriately escalate sensitive matters in a timely manner.
- Deliver accurate work of a high standard within specified timeframes.

**The knowledge and experience you’ll need**:

- Knowledge:

- Qualifications and/or relevant experience in biological, agricultural, veterinary or environmental science, animal health, or biosecurity are desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience:

- Working in a fast-paced operational and regulatory environment.
- Providing responsive customer services and assisting clients to understand complex policies and procedures.
- Collating and analysing data.
- Security Clearance of Baseline Vetting will be required to be obtained and maintained.
