**How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne**

The Property, Infrastructure and Design Division is responsible for providing leadership and an integrated approach to city design, project delivery and the ongoing management of infrastructure in the municipality of Melbourne.

We play a major role in shaping the city by ensuring the public realm remains a place for all people to live, learn, work and prosper in a high quality, high amenity sustainable urban environment.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated experience in urban design, be a great communicator, and have experience in stakeholder engagement, problem solving, and project management. You will be confident in making logical, informed and supportable urban design decisions and exercise discretion in the delivery of projects.

- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- A relevant tertiary qualification(s) in Urban Design or related professional discipline - landscape architecture and/or architecture.
- Demonstrated ability to input into the development of planning and urban design policy, including the analysis and testing of built form proposals that can support planning scheme amendments.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in implementing the design process on projects of a range of scales.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- High level graphic competency, including hand drawing and digital graphics (Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp).
- Demonstrated ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously, set priorities and meet deadlines and budget commitments which meet or exceed client expectations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships and work in multi-disciplinary teams.
