**About the Role**:
The Cyber Security Operations Manager will support Ventia cyber defence by providing initial incident response activities This role will lead Security operations analysts and third-party suppliers to utilise data and logs, and cyber defence tools to analyse events that occur within our environment to mitigate threats.Ventia head office is in North Sydney, other offices can be considered for this role.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
Cyber security monitoring, threat detection, threat Hunting and Incident response
- Build, implement and manage effective cyber security risk detection processes and tools, including delivery of periodic reporting and completion of cyber security audits / tests
- Lead technical response to cyber security incidents and threats
- Developing content for cyber defence tools through developing requirements for the SIEM and determine tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) for intrusion sets.
- Build and lead a team of analysts and prioritise work to provide timely detection, identification, and alerting of possible attacks/intrusions, anomalous activities, malicious activities, misuse activities and distinguish these incidents and events from benign activities using cyber defence tools for continual monitoring and analysis of Ventia’s environment.
- Manage third party MSSP for level 1 event triage
- Analyse identified malicious activity to determine weaknesses exploited, exploitation methods, effects on system and information.
- Build and sustain external threat intelligence partnerships
- Document and escalate incidents (including event's history, status, and potential impact for further action) that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment.
- Develop summary reports of network events and activity relevant to Ventia and cyber defence trend analysis and reporting
- Lead and direct event correlation using information gathered from a variety of sources within the enterprise to gain situational awareness and determine the effectiveness of an observed attack.
- Plan and recommend modifications or adjustments based on cyber exercise results or system environment.
- Actively lead their team using Agile methodologies.

- Strongly geared towards developing cyber security & risk strategy that protects the business while enabling efficient operations
- Skilled in understanding and adopting relevant cyber security industry trends
- Data-driven decision maker
- Demonstrated experience in managing, maintaining and governing digital security
- Skilled in digital security solution design while proactively anticipating risk
- Experienced in leading, coaching and developing outsourced and or supplier's teams to achieve objectives
- Champion of agile ways of working
- Great team player.
