**The Role**

The Research Director will be responsible for managing a mid-sized team with a hands-on approach and ensuring the quality delivery of Research processes, methodologies and Programs are met efficiently. You will guide, develop and delegate projects to the team and manage interactions and engagement with key senior stakeholders.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead, manage and coach a team of staff embedding and promoting a high performance and collaborative culture across the team in the delivery of event research programs and key reporting to support effective decision making
- Manage relationships with various internal and external stakeholders, including being able to clearly present research data to a diverse audience of research users and decision makers
- Develop reporting against key performance indicators such as visitation, economic impact, social benefits, awareness, campaign messaging and other relevant measures
- Manage and coordinate the optimisation of reporting outputs of key industry research and data sources to enable user-friendly, timely and accessible reporting through technology solutions
- Consolidate new and existing data sources in a single platform to deliver a self-service portal to access data across various services
- Collaborate with other teams within the division as required, to optimise research outcomes and provide a holistic view on tourism and events especially around event investment
- Provide advice and communicate insights to stakeholders to enable effective planning and decision making across the organisation

**You will have**:

- Circa 7-8+ years' experience in Market Research & Insights professional with team management of minimum 2 upwards
- Experience in Government or Tourism Highly desirable
- Open to a Research agency background with desires to work in Government
- Extensive experience in conducting Quantitative research, data analysis, reporting and ability to translate data and information to inform high level strategic planning and decision making
- Excellent communication and engagement skills with Key stakeholders internally and externally
- Demonstrate knowledge of a range of analysis and reporting techniques, technologies and tools including automation, SPSS/Q, advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent presentation skills & Interpersonal skills

**Hybrid working model of 2 days in the office, 3 days WFH. Be a part of the 2030 Economy Visitor Strategy for NSW.**
