**The Role**:
Key responsibilities
- Manage a small team supporting review officers
- Lead the assessment of complex and novel external reviews, and assessing and managing risk, briefing delegated decision makers on legal, factual and procedural considerations.
- Train, advise and mentor review officers, including partnering on challenging calls and peer reviewing correspondence including as a content expert for team members seeking guidance on legal and procedural issues.
- Use expert communication skills and strategies to liaise with participants and recommend and implement strategies to manage a range of stakeholders, including high conflict/entrenched participants.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and innovation relating to OIC systems and processes.
- Contribute to the development of knowledge resources, leading internal staff training sessions and representing OIC in external training sessions and forums.

About OIC
OIC is an independent body that reports to Parliament. Our vision is building trust through transparency. We have a statutory role under the RTI Act and the IP Act to facilitate greater and easier access to information held by government agencies. We also assist agencies to understand their obligations under the IP Act to safeguard personal information that they hold. Our office reviews agency decisions about access to information, mediates privacy complaints, and monitors and reports on agency compliance to Parliament.
