**Position Information**:
Located in the Carlingford network, Dundas Public School is a dynamic K-6 school established in 1951. The school is set in a residential location and features include spacious, leafy surrounds. Dundas Public School has 350 students including 68% from language backgrounds other than English. A wide variety of cultural groups are represented within the school community, primarily Korean, Chinese and Indian.

The school is dedicated to maximising student learning outcomes through quality, explicit instruction across all key learning areas. School priorities include literacy, numeracy, assessment and student wellbeing. The school enjoys a cohesive mix of experienced and early career teachers who have high expectations of their students. Our teachers focus on quality teaching, collaboration, collegiality, teamwork and high expectations. Teachers work together to foster a quality learning environment that reflects our school values of safety, respect and learning.

The school is evaluating data from their Situational Analysis to inform the Strategic Directions and initiatives for the 2021-2024 Strategic Improvement Plan, to bring about continual improvement in learning, teaching and leading for every student, every staff and community member.

The school provides a range of extracurricular programs including choir, band, debating, dance and sport. Students are encouraged to develop their leadership skills through participation in the Student Representative Council, Peer Mediation, PALS and House Captain roles. The school has a reputation as being an inclusive and caring place where students are engaged and happy at school. It enjoys close links with the local community and has an active P & C.

**Selection Criteria**:
1. In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary underpinned by strong curriculum knowledge and the ability to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complexities of the leadership aspects of the Assistant Principal role.

2. Highly developed communication, organisation and interpersonal skills with capacity to lead, mentor and inspire innovation and change while maintaining positive relationships with students, families and community members.

3. Proven ability to strategically and collaboratively lead data driven pedagogical change and professional learning that embeds quality teaching and high expectations with a focus on improving student learning outcomes and evidence-informed literacy and numeracy practices.

4. Demonstrated capacity in embedding inclusive connections to Aboriginal Education and students from culturally diverse backgrounds.

1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
