**Full Time Laboratory Manager**

SALARY $90,000 - $100,000 excl. superannuation (commensurate with experience)

SUMMARY

**The Laboratory Manageris a critical member of our team, ensuring the creation of high-quality, high genetic value bovine embryos through assisted animal reproduction techniques. The laboratory manager who we are looking for will be a collaborative leader, team player and highly skilled technician who oversees and coordinates IVF processes and operations in a laboratory environment for the Vytelle ADVANCE IVF.**

This role performs laboratory functions with bovine oocytes/embryos to improve embryo culture media quality, efficiency and embryo production and upholds the integrity of media quality control production and approval. The role of the Laboratory Manager ensures successful in vitro embryo production, bovine embryo freezing, bovine embryo transfer and the quality of in vitro embryo production.

DUTIES

Oocyte collection and maturation:

- Prepare, maintain and plan collection-related tasks and instruments.
- Oocyte quality assessment at collection.
- Oocyte conditioning for maturation and/or shipping.
- Maintain collection workflow and give opportune feedback to international laboratory manager.
- Produce the weekly plan and the daily collection reports.
- Identify and report any anomaly detected during collections.
- Maintain laboratory SOP standards on oocyte collection and maturation.

Semen processing:

- Prepare, maintain, and plan processing tasks and instruments.
- Semen samples processing for in vitro fertilization.
- Follow processing directives and occasional special processing requests.
- Ensure optimal processing parameters according to laboratory SOPs are respected (times, temperatures, etc.).
- Check and control the processing workflow and observe the strict rules of sample order and QA.
- Ensure the correct data transfer and labeling during processing.
- Maintain and troubleshoot processing equipment (incubators, dry baths, centrifuge, etc.).
- Identify and report any anomaly detected during the sorting process.
- Maintain laboratory SOP standards on sample processing.

Embryo culture, evaluation, loading and freezing:

- Prepare, maintain and plan collection-related tasks and instruments.
- Embryo quality assessment after oocyte fertilization.
- Embryo conditioning for transfer and/or shipping.
- Maintain embryo culture workflow and give opportune feedback to lab**oratory** manager.
- Produce the weekly plan and the daily embryo reports.
- Identify and report any anomaly detected during embryoevaluation.
- Maintain laboratory SOP standards on embryo culture and processing.

Media, collection and processing data integrity:

- Maintain the data record related to the embryo production information.
- Fill in and communicate oocyte collection and embryo production data.
- Observe laboratory directives on labeling and traceability of media and embryo production.

Processing areas:

- Maintain the production inventory and the LN2 levels.

Leadership:

- Provides leadership to a rapidly growing team of IVF technicians, laboratory and office management professionals.
- Confidently manages a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Has the ability to effectively train a growing team of IVF technicians/ embryologists.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor degreequalification in a relevant scientific field of study (bovine reproductive medicine, livestock, veterinary medicine or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years related laboratory management experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to details andtechnicalities
- Experience with successfully leading teams and training technical staff
- Excellent technical skills as it relates to bovineIVF
- Excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills

**Job Types**: Permanent, Full-time

**Salary**: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
