**The Role**

Reporting into the Head of Sourcing and Partnerships, the IT Category and Sourcing Manager role will form a critical role within the Sourcing and Partnerships leadership team.

You will be responsible for building strong partnerships with the MLC Technology leadership, driving the development and execution of key technology category (and sub-category), and sourcing strategies and initiatives.

You will succeed by leading and managing Technology sourcing, defining the most appropriate market-engagement approach, selecting, negotiating, and contracting to achieve MLC’s desired business outcomes.

As a key member of the Sourcing and Partnerships team, you will also play a critical role in managing/contributing to the ongoing uplift in strategy, process and performance of Sourcing and Partnerships.

**About you**

A seasoned Category and Commercial Manager, you possess a minimum of 8 to 10+ years of experience in a similar capacity, ideally within the financial services industry.

You are highly familiar and experienced with managing and interacting with suppliers in the technology sector, such as managed service providers and other technology vendors (e.g. Software, Cloud, Infrastructure services).

Other requirements include:

- Extensive experience in the development, creation and execution of Category Management Strategies in the technology category with measurable and achievable savings/reductions and value delivery;
- Extensive experience and hands on experience executing all aspects of the end-to-end indirect supply chain and procurement lifecycle - including category strategy and management, source to contract market activities, negotiation and execution, contractual / deal expertise, performance management risk management processes.
- Excellent written, analytical and verbal skills to communicate with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior/executive management;
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability in running cross-functional projects and teams;
- Advanced influencing, change management, communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders;
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think innovatively; commercial and financial acumen to contribute ideas on all aspects of the organisation with the gravitas to influence at the most senior levels; and
- A demonstrated Growth Mindset
