Within Global Workspace Solutions, also known as GWS, we are invested in the development and unique needs of our diverse employees and client accounts.- We are seeking an Electrical Technician/Mechanical to join our BMS/Building Automation team. This position will involve Minor Works Installation, Maintenance/Service and Construction Installation Projects.**Here’s a snapshot of your day:
- Performing preventive maintenance activities such as measuring positions, repositioning components; and observing operations, vibrations and noise levels
- Performing emergency / break down electrical and mechanical maintenance as necessary to support plant operations
- Accurately using measurement and test equipment
- Performing mechanical and distribution board installation and configuration design.
- Installing feeds and sub-feeds and cable support systems for new and existing equipment within industrial and commercial premises.
- Installing new and replacing faulty electrical components such as VSDs, temperature and air quality devices, actuators and panel control devices such as relays, indication lights and AOM switches.
- Fault finding of existing Mechanical Services Switchboards including control systems, relays and power distribution.
- Troubleshooting drives, i.e. AC and DC
- Reading electrical block diagrams, schematics as well as PLC ladder logic
- Accurately completely maintenance records and other paperwork
- Work collaboratively within the team and across the departments
- Resolve operational or technical equipment problems to minimize manufacturing interruptions resulting from equipment breakdowns / failures

- A-Grade Electrical trade qualification.
- Experience in Mechanical/HVAC trade and or equivalent qualifications.
- Problem-solver and ability to diagnose issues in a disciplined and methodical manner.
- Switch board and control panel construction in a workshop environment.
- Ability to understand control strategies and systems in order to make assessment and recommendations for enhancements and efficiencies.
- Discipline and planning skills to implement recommendations and changes.
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite. (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously
- Hold a current Australian Driving Licence

**Desired, not essential**
- PLC/DDC Programming, in particular EasyIO and Tridium Niagara programming.
- Instrumentation certification or equivalent qualification by experience.
- Mechanical HVAC trade qualification or equivalent qualification by experience.
- Ability to understand control strategies and systems in order to make assessment and recommendations for enhancements and efficiencies.
