The Tactical Datalink (TDL) Specialist will Support the PLEXSYS Australia Program Manager to provide support to users of the PLEXSYS Ecosystem, as well as providing operational advice to Systems Engineers and Software Developers in Tactical Datalink Operations. Responsibilities include, at the direction of the Program Manager, Coordination with development stakeholders to ensure the TDL Training System, including all PLEXSYS products, meets technical and operational requirements.

The TDL specialist will work with external stakeholders to provide solutions for software and hardware integration into the training environment. Assist in designing software user interfaces, develop product databases, exercise scenarios, use PLEXSYS products to drive live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) exercises/events for use in Tactical Datalink Training scenarios, and train internal and external users in the operation of TDL training system.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design and development of Tactical Data Link training systems in multiple geographical locations on behalf of the Program Manager, PLEXSYS Australia
- Prepare and deliver quality written guidance, briefings, Concepts of Employment, and training material for Tactical Data Link Training System
- Provide detailed guidance and instruction to the PLEXSYS Synthetic Environment Team, and software engineers on Tactical Datalink, including Link 22 implementation
- Participate on project development teams, providing operational input to help define requirements and assist in the development of user-interface design for Tactical Data Links Training System
- At the direction of the Program Manager, train internal/external customers in the operational use of PLEXSYS products
- Assist in the management Full Time Equivalent Support to Defence, ensuring agreed tasks and Training aims are met
- Ability to think critically and guide employees working through difficult tasks under stressful situations in both domestic and foreign locations
- Be able to manage diverse and dynamic travel and daily work schedules for employees in multiple geographical locations
- Support PLEXSYS products in LVC exercises and training events
- Support the development and maintenance of databases, scenarios, and product use cases in support of PLEXSYS ASCOT product lines
- Assist in the development, maintenance, and update of internal training products
- Maintain a high level of understanding of PLEXSYS products and operational use cases
- Support the creation, standardisation, and upkeep of Training plans and Material

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- A high-level understanding of Tactical Data Links, Naval Combat Systems, Test and Evaluation, Tactical Data Links (Link 16, JREAP, Link 11, Satellite TDL J, Link 22) and LMMT (Link Monitoring and Management System)
- Display advanced working knowledge of specifications and requirement documentation during system development. Requires an advanced understanding and workable knowledge of the contents within each TDL standards document.
- Independently perform a range of design, development, analysis, or review tasks under generally established project deadlines.
- Ability to synthesize between high-level requirements to low-level system and design specifications
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues within multiple systems
- Minimum 6 years’ military or civilian managerial experience
- Develop, maintains, and produces technical documentation and system/subsystem specifications
- Ability to travel both domestic and international

DESIRABLE
- Completed JT-301 JICO training.
- Experience developing training systems and tools
- Familiar with computer components, networks, and ability to diagnose basic software issues
- Experience with Microsoft Office products Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel is required
- Security Clearance: Secret or above
- Proficiency with all PLEXSYS software
