Water/wastewater Attendant

Salary: $53,077 - $59,667 p.a. plus 10.5% Super

**About the role**
This is a **permanent**, **full-time**, Monday to Friday 7.00am to 4.00pm position working **38 hours** per week. Located at one of the Shoalhaven Water Depots or Treatment Plants.

Attendants are likely to be on the on-call roster every 4 to 14 weeks depending on the work area they are placed in. They may however opt to do more on calls due to staff unavailability. The overtime amount will vary depending on what issues arise.

A merit list may be created for future vacancies.

**Duties**
Reporting directly to a Shoalhaven Water Coordinator or Supervisor, the focus of this position is to:

- Assist water/wastewater mains construction including the installation of new, replacement and interconnection works.
- Assist water/wastewater new services construction and or repairs.
- Water maintenance work including scheduled maintenance of hydrants, valves, pumping stations, mains, and reservoirs.
- Digging up and inspection of water/sewer pipes and fittings on trunk mains.
- Assist with emergency breakdown work as required.
- Maintain and repair water and wastewater pumping stations and liaise with Electrical and Mechanical Supervisors to affect minor repairs when required.
- Maintain and repair sewer mains and manholes.

**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (Visa)
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to undertake relevant workplace training.
- Demonstrated
- problem solving skills.
- ability to deal courtesy with people at different levels.
- ability to provide effective customer service.
- ability to follow defined Work Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to
