**About the role**
Shoalhaven City Council currently has five positions available across the water operations department. These positions range between Water Construction, Wastewater treatment and Wastewater Distribution teams.

The Water/Wastewater attendant positions are permanent, full time, Monday to Friday (7am - 4pm) working **38 hours** per week.

**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Coordinator - Wastewater, the focus of this position is to:

- Assist water/wastewater mains construction including the installation of new, replacement, and interconnection works.
- Assist water/wastewater new services construction and or repairs
- Assist at wastewater or water treatment works when required.
- Water maintenance work including scheduled maintenance of hydrants, valves, pumping stations, mains, and reservoirs.
- Digging up and inspection of water/sewer pipes and fittings on trunk mains.

**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:

- Class C Driver’s Licence.
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship, or authority to work in Australia (Visa)
- Demonstrated
- problem solving skills
- ability to deal courtesy with people at different levels
- ability to provide effective customer service
- ability to follow defined Work Health & Safety (WHS) policies and procedures.
- Ability and willingness to
- undertake routine work on a regular basis
- maintain high standards of work with minimum supervision
- maintain accurate records (entry-level aptitude testing conducted as part of the selection process).
- Proven ability to work as part of a team.
- A commitment to undertake relevant workplace training.
