Your Opportunity
As the Principal Advisor within Infrastructure Safety you will:

- Provide leadership to support team operations and infrastructure in undertaking high level analysis, design, review and implementation of infrastructure safety related systems, policies, projects and programs of work.
- Provide strategic advice and report to the division executive, senior management and departmental stakeholders across a range of infrastructure safety issues.

About the Role

**The Principal Advisor, Infrastructure Safety**:

- Leads the development and operation of safety reporting, systems and continuous improvements across the division.
- Leads and coordinates input to departmental compliance reports, including the, budget Estimates briefings and Annual Reports, within required timeframes and ensuring accuracy and consistency of responses in accordance with whole-of government standards.
- Provides strategic advice to the Director, Infrastructure Safety, division executives, senior management and departmental stakeholders across a range of safety reporting activities and issues.
- Provides executive support services, and follow up action items to support the Director, Infrastructure Safety.
- Facilitates and undertakes the timely preparation of high-quality performance reports, by integrating, analysing, and reporting on information across the division, including the identification of emerging trends and issues, to assist the leadership team to monitor performance.
- Provides specialist advice, direction, leadership and support to Infrastructure Safety roles in line with legislation, industry leading practice, contemporary and emerging practices and the best available evidence.
- Leads and proactively oversees people management including the management of recruitment, performance, team communication, coaching and development and ensuring a safe and diverse work environment, modelling ethical behaviour, and decision making.

- High level leadership, strategic thinking and management skills to deliver consistent outcomes in a large and complex organisation
- Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills to establish and maintain strategic networks to advance the department's systems and databases to identify, define and analyse best practice approaches to support a range of infrastructure safety related services
- High level of skill in leading safety, risk and assurance professionals in implementing appropriate safety and risk management frameworks, strategies, programs, policies and procedures.
