**What you'll be doing**

The MECS Business Partner is part of the Ministerial and Executive Correspondence Services team, which is responsible for ensuring the timely, accurate, efficient and high quality management and standards of briefings and correspondence within the District.

The MECS Business Partner is responsible for the timely and efficient management of ministerial correspondence and briefings and parliamentary matters, including coordinating, reviewing, analysing and drafting responses that meet required standards. The position holder is responsible for managing Chief Executive correspondence, including distribution of requests, follow-up and tracking, reviewing and vetting draft responses, and dispatch of signed items. The role is actively involved in delivering the unit’s training and support program.
It also supports the unit’s stakeholders by developing strong relationships with all stakeholders, including but not limited to executive and senior management, and providing liaison and advice related to the unit’s business.
Along with the other team members, the MECS Business Partner participates in the team’s reporting requirements and maintains high standards of record-keeping at all times.
All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.

**Selection Criteria**
- Hold an appropriate tertiary qualification or relevant equivalent experience in a complex environment, and a Class C driver’s licence.
- Highly efficient time management skills and a demonstrated capacity to successfully manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing briefings and correspondence for senior executives of a large, complex organisation, including advice to Government members and ministers.
- High-level oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Ability to confidentially handle sensitive, contentious, controversial and emotive issues.
- High-level information technology and systems skills, including office systems, word processing and spreadsheet packages, and demonstrated experience in records management procedures and practices including using an electronic records management system (for example TRIM).
- Ability to develop, coordinate and deliver training sessions as part of a training program. Strong customer service focus including the ability to promote the benefits of effective communication.
