The Patient Billing Specialist position is responsible for managing and maintaining the financial administrative tasks across multiple Oncology practices and working with the site-based Patient Services staff in the delivery of high-quality patient centred services.
The key focus of the role is to actively manage and process financial tasks including the generation of invoices, payment plans, payments, and debt collection.
More Specifically, You Will:
- Provide network support to the non-patient facing functions of the billing cycle, managing the process across the three Oncology services, Radiation, Medical Oncology & Theranostics.
- Ensure patient invoices are generated ready for distribution on the nominated day.
- Appropriate documentation is remitted for DVA/Health fund and/or other Third-Party invoices as well as Third-Party claims are processed in a timely manner
- Perform Mosaiq to PBRC data reconciliation to ensure practice data is ready for month end invoicing process
- Monthly invoicing of State Health Billing/PPP, ensuring data is accurate and submitted on time and to contract requirements
- Bank Reconciliation function - Reconciling refunds and overpayments
- Liaise directly with Shared Services Finance team and work with patient services staff to correct reconciling issues and provide improvement feedback to teams.
- Perform the function of Health Fund Eligibility for Medical Oncology & Haematology Services; online and phone verification checks
- Carry out all procedures to facilitate the smooth operation of EasyPay
- Ensure debtors are managed effectively and in line with the Debtors Management policy & procedure.
- Perform a full function accounts receivable role including receipting payments, processing adjustments, refunds, and write-offs, processing authorised fee changes.
- Work Co-operatively within a multidisciplinary team, exchange information and assist other team members to achieve team objectives and work outcomes.
We are interested in hearing from people:
- Diploma of Medical Administration or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and an ability to provide excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
- Medical accounts processing skills including knowledge of Medicare, DVA and private health funds.
- Demonstrated ability in using clinical administration systems and Microsoft Office software particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external business stakeholders.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
