Principal Genetic Counsellor

About the role
**The purpose of this role is to**:
- Provide line management of Genetic Counsellors to include change management and service innovation for GHQ.
- Deliver a specialist genetic counselling clinical service and professional leadership (which incorporates an educator focus) within a multidisciplinary team delivering services to stakeholders/customers of Queensland Health in accordance with organisational goals.
- Promote, through community education and liaison, the purpose and availability of genetic counselling services, particularly within the State of Queensland.

- Demonstrates advanced level of knowledge, expertise and skills in two or more clinical areas as a specialist in genetic counselling.
- Demonstrates ability to provide clinical advice regarding professional standards and clinical service development.
- Demonstrates management experience and ability to manage complex situations.
- Demonstrates ability to lead change through quality and service improvement activities and provide clinical supervision of personnel.
