**Position Information**:
Kotara South Public School has a proud tradition of providing a stimulating, rich and relevant education for each of our 347 students through quality teaching and life-long learning practices in a positive, safe and supportive environment. Our school vision is to be a school of excellence, demonstrating outstanding school success for all. We proudly support 14 classes and one Hearing support unit.
Student excellence is promoted through the partnership between school, students and families, and cultural awareness that 'together we can achieve our very best'. Our students achieve at a high level academically, artistically, socially and in sport, reflecting the values inherent in doing things the 'Kotara South Way'. The whole school community, involving students, staff, parents, and the local AECG have an active voice within our school.
Our students are provided with extensive opportunities to engage in a range of extracurricular activities including junior and senior choir, debating/public speaking, drama, dance, representative sport, robotics, STEM, enrichment groups and garden care.
Kotara South Public-School prides itself on engaging students in dynamic learning experiences that encourage them to reach their full potential. These activities and experiences are founded on a culture of high expectations and academic excellence. The school boasts outstanding academic results, and our staff are strongly connected with our students and their families.
This Assistant Principal role would be effective from the start of term 2 2023.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Outstanding curriculum leadership with a demonstrated ability to cultivate, lead and evaluate evidence based and data informed initiatives, organisational structures, and practices within a stage.
- Demonstrated capacity to balance exemplary classroom teaching practice with the complex leadership and management role of an Assistant Principal.
- Highly visible and collaborative leader, who promotes a culture of belonging and high expectations to strengthen positive partnerships within the school community.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire teams to work collaboratively on whole school initiatives that promote the successful implementation of the Strategic Improvement Plan.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
