An exciting opportunity for a Geospatial specialist with a Federal Government department. In this role you will perform and achieve maritime geospatial chart quality assurance and production work. You will be required to share information, monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local procedures. You will also help supervise and provide leadership to a team, providing coaching and on-the-job training for newer and less experienced team members.

**Duties**:

- Perform straightforward maritime geospatial chart quality assurance and production tasks
- Contribute new ideas and identify opportunities to improve the work of the team
- Monitor task progress against performance expectation to ensure deadlines are met
- Use experience in Geographic Information Systems to maintain and enhance geospatial databases
- Interpret and comply with legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks and international and national standards.

**Desirable skills and experience**:

- Sound knowledge of the International Hydrographic Organisation (IHO) Charting specifications
- Sound knowledge of the Australian Charting specifications
- Sound knowledge and experience compiling and QA nautical charts (paper and digital)
- Sound knowledge and experience validating Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC)
- Ability to work independently and follow procedures
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to contribute to a continuous improvement process
