The role In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing state-wide clinical practice improvement and clinical governance projects to enhance the quality of care provided to consumers of mental health, alcohol, and other drug services. You will adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies, and Queensland Health's core values to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality services. Using Clinical Excellence Queensland's Project Management Framework, you will conduct project activities while liaising with key stakeholders, including internal departments, Hospital and Health Services, government agencies, professional groups, and community organizations. Your role will involve providing timely, strategic advice and guidance to stakeholders and senior management on issues related to mental health care, preparing high-level briefing documents, submissions, and reports, and representing the Clinical Governance Unit and Office of the Chief Psychiatrist on state-wide committees.
You will also provide leadership, support, and guidance to team members and other staff, both internal and external to the work, ensuring that human resources, finances, and physical resources are managed effectively to maintain a high level of productivity within the Office of the Chief Psychiatrist. Your ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships, coupled with your expertise in clinical governance and project management, will be critical in driving innovative and strategic health service responses to the needs of people with mental health and substance use disorders.
The successful personTo excel in this role, you will need proven experience in leading and managing complex system-wide or state-wide projects that are time-sensitive and consistently deliver expected outcomes. You should also possess strong analytical skills, with expertise in policy analysis, data interpretation, and evaluation, as well as the ability to coordinate multiple related activities to achieve project goals.
Additionally, you should be well-versed in national and state strategic directions, standards, frameworks, legislation, and safety priorities related to mental health, alcohol, and other drugs service delivery, including suicide prevention. A solid understanding of best practice healthcare improvement methodologies, improvement science, organizational change management, or other relevant improvement approaches is also essential.
