NextGen Jobs is hiring a Business Trainee  to support the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing. Do you have an interest in launching your career in the government while earning a  **Certificate III in Business Administration**?

This **12 month traineeship **based in Melbourne CBD provides support to the Tertiary Sector Engagement team to ensure the department can operate in an effective and efficient manner.

**Youth Employment Scheme (YES)**

Funded by the Victorian State Government, the YES initiative increases workforce participation among young people, particularly those facing barriers to employment. These placements offer valuable work experience and formal training, fostering a sustainable career path. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

**Eligibility Criteria**
- Be aged between 15 and 29 years at the commencement of the traineeship
- Not currently engaged in tertiary education
- Not have attained a university level qualification (excluding 1-4 certificates)

**Position Overview**

The role involves supporting student placement management through various stages, including initial screening, supervisor identification, and onboarding assistance.

**Key accountabilities**
- Facilitate departmental connections and partnerships with external stakeholders, addressing placement queries, and contributing to strategy development, reporting, and evaluation.
- Utilize HR systems to monitor placements, engage with students, and track career progress for long-term strategy evaluation.
- Provide process and system support, understand stakeholder needs, undertake complex tasks as directed, and maintain accurate records in compliance with policies.
- Follow Occupational Health and Safety practices
- Complete TAFE studies associated with the one year traineeship
