- Implement and deliver the TIS Rowing Program in partnership with Rowing Australia (RA) and Rowing Tasmania (RT), supporting the goals and objectives of the sporting institute. As the principal rowing coach for the TID Development Squad and TIS Rowing Performance Squad be accountable for delivering the Tasmanian State Pathway Program, including designing and implementing comprehensive training and competition programs for identified potential high-performance rowers.We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that understands the importance of flexibility. **Period of Appointment**:
Appointment to the role is on a fixed term flexible (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight) basis for 2 years.

**Duties**:

- Identify and propose athletes for categorisation within TIS Development and Rowing Performance Squads.
- Deliver daily training on water in both Hobart and Launceston. Working flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, as well as camps, competitions, and other training venues as required.
- Utilise contemporary coaching practices in a rowing environment, motivating and empowering identified athletes.
- Maintain positive relationships with schools and clubs’ coaches with athletes that are in both rowing environments.
- Maintain open communication and collaboration with Rowing Tasmania about TIS pathway activity.
- Develop and implement individual performance plans (including competition plans) for TID Development Squad and TIS Rowing Performance Squad athletes.
- Use athlete monitoring and training technologies to maximise training availability and enhance performance aligned with the individual performance plan.
- Support the TIS head rowing coach with coaching and coordinating training programs for TIS HP athletes as required.
- Undertake additional duties within the TIS environment.

**Essential Requirements**:
Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:

- _Current Tasmanian Working with Children Registration_
- _National Police Clearance _
- _Current First Aid Certificate_
- _Current Driver’s Licence_
- _Current boat licence _
- _Experience rowing coaching at Underage (U19, U21, U23) National level or higher _
- _Successful completion of -_
- _Sport Integrity Australia Anti-Doping Fundamentals Course _
- _Sports Integrity Australia Competition Manipulation and Sports Betting Course _

The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.

**Desirable Requirements**:

- _Level 2 National rowing coaching accreditation or_
- _Coaching certification and or experience with other sporting disciplines at national and/or international levels would be deemed an advantage._
- _Demonstrated sound knowledge and/or qualification in either sports performance services, sports science, strength & conditioning, performance analysis._
