**Our Rowing Club**

Located at Pavilion Point on the banks of the Derwent River, the Derwent Mercantile Collegiate Rowing Club (DMCRC) is the second oldest rowing club in Australia and the oldest in Tasmania.
The club came into being in 1965 as a result of the merger of the Derwent Rowing Club (est. 1872) and the Mercantile Rowing Club (est. 1876). St Michaels Collegiate School was received into the club as an equal partner in 1996, thus creating the Derwent Mercantile Collegiate Rowing Club and bringing new life to the club and a new era in its history.

**About the Role**
- Part-time (0.6 FTE)
- Fixed term contract (2 years)
- A full-time role may be considered, especially if the applicant is a registered teacher
- Term 3 commencement as agreed

Reporting to the Principal and supported by the Deputy Principal, you will coordinate Collegiate’s rowing program, working closely with coaching and support staff to:

- Lead the development of a Strategic Plan for the rowing program;
- Ensure the rowing program meets the expectations of accessibility, inclusivity and equity for rowers from Grade 7 to 12;
- Promote and ensure the School’s Mission and Values, sporting ethos and Code of Conduct are upheld;
- Develop, implement and review structured long‐term and seasonal competition and coaching programs that support a Mastery Approach to rowing;
- Lead the professional development and annual performance review of the coaching team to ensure continual improvement in coaching standards;
- Oversee WHS and the development of a Workplace Health and Safety Management system for rowing;
- Liaise with Derwent Mercantile Collegiate Rowing Club (DMCRC) to ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards and;
- Manage the annual capital and recurrent budget.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Demonstrated experience and current appropriate qualifications in coaching girls from beginner to elite (minimum Level 1 NCAS Accreditation or ability to obtain within 12 months of being appointed to the position)
- First Aid certification (Provide First Aid in and Education & Care Setting)
- Current Driver’s License
- Working with Vulnerable Persons Registration (RWVP)
- Current criminal history check (dated within 3 months of issue)
- Recreational Boating License (desirable)
- Knowledge of relevant Workplace Health and Safety Legislation, Codes of Practice and Rowing specific guidelines

**Skills and Experience**:

- Coaching experience at school and/or club level
- Demonstrated high level of interpersonal and organisational skills
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, budget management, information technology and management of people, including leading a team.
- Knowledge of principles and methods for rowing specific training design, instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Understanding and awareness of the principles of safeguarding children
- A willingness to work within the School's Christian ethos and actively support the values and philosophy of the School.
