About the Role
The Head of Risk will work within the Risk & Corporate Governance space to lead the development and ongoing operation of organisational governance and risk assessment frameworks, and foster risk aware organisational culture to effectively manage risk and support performance improvement through innovation, governance and best practice.
The Head of Risk is responsible for ensuring a strong framework and an effective and consistent system is in place for risk identification, evaluation, mitigation, reporting, escalation, disaster recovery and business continuity. This position provides a strong focus on promoting a positive risk management culture, through active promotion and education of staff across all levels of the organisation. It is also responsible for the management of the Internal Audit program and insurance.
Key Duties
Lead the development and implementation of a proactive risk management framework across Baptcare, including procedures outlining risk management roles, responsibilities and processes across the organisation.
Proactively drive a positive risk culture, with engagement at all levels of the organisation.
Deliver expert advice and information to stakeholders on emerging governance issues.
Negotiate and manage stakeholder relationships, presenting recommendations to achieve good governance and risk management.
Implement and manage the agreed internal audit program across Baptcare, informed by the organisation’s strategic risk profile.
Review and ensure appropriate insurance coverage across Baptcare Under the supervision of the CFO.
Continue the development of the system of legislative update communication and manage the processes to provide reporting and assurance of compliance ongoing.
Create and implement a meaningful reporting system to maximise visibility and drive risk mitigation and management activity.
About You

**You will ideally bring the following**:
Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
Experience of at least 5 years at a senior level within the areas of risk, compliance and audit, with technology capability viewed favourably.
Sound knowledge of good practice enterprise risk and compliance frameworks and processes and risk system capabilities, for large and complex organisations.
Experience in NFP or community aged care highly regarded.
Experience in a unionised workplace highly regarded.
Current Australian Driver's Licence and own insured vehicle.
Willingness to obtain a Police Check through Baptcare.
