**About the Quality Teaching Practice unit**:
The Quality Teaching Practice unit sits within Learning Improvement, a division of the Department of Education. Our work is centred on amplifying best practice of outstanding teachers across the state. We identify and mobilise expert to create and deliver high-impact professional learning which is strategically scaled across the system. Our ultimate goal is to drive improved and equitable student learning outcomes, by deepening teaching practice.

The 2017 transitional arrangement for the recruitment of Non-School Based Teaching Service positions, for all Senior Education Officer 1 (SEO1) and Senior Education 2 (SEO2) positions across the Department have ceased. Revised eligibility requirements for SEO1 and SEO2 positions are now in place. Applicants should refer to the Definitions for recent school based and recent NSBTS experience for further information.

- Teaching qualifications and recent school-based experience within the K-12 range and/or recent NSBTS experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to participating in and managing accreditation processes.
- Proven ability to liaise and negotiate with a range of stakeholders and work collaboratively within and across teams.
- Experience in leading curriculum implementation and demonstrated understanding of current trends, resources, quality teaching and assessment practice, relevant legislation and policies.
- Proven capacity to lead, motivate and influence a large team and the ability to manage complex tasks to facilitate change.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, provide sound advice and work independently
- Demonstrated ability to build the capacity of staff through the development and delivery of innovative programs and services
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
