**About the role**
We currently have a 12 month, max-term opportunity for a Portfolio Operations Manager to join our State Investments (SI) team based in Brisbane.
As the long-term investment manager for the state of Queensland, the State Investments (SI) team’s focus on the future helps deliver value to our government clients. We offer an outsourced CIO model to a broad range of Queensland government clients. We are Brisbane based, delivering global expertise for the benefit of a local market.
You will be supporting the Managing Director, State Investments (SI) in the delivery of business management, acting as an escalation point for complex matters, proactively managing stakeholders with the ability to influence and deliver business outcomes. Additionally, you will manage the delivery of reports and presentations to key stakeholders using clear, concise and compelling written and verbal format where it is necessary. Your role will span key areas for the day-to-day oversight of portfolio operations within the team.
The key accountabilities are not limited to but include:

- Support the Managing Director to complete corporate responsibilities including reporting.
- Act as an escalation point for complex matters.
- Manage and resolve issues of an operational nature within the State Investments Team.
- Operationalise investment initiatives with a focus on execution excellence and risk management.
- Proactively manage stakeholders with the ability to influence and deliver business outcomes.
- Manage the delivery of reports and presentations to key stakeholders including management & clients.
- Manage the delivery of portfolio analytics to support investment decisions and client deliverables
- Oversight of State Investments data management.
- Manage relationships and information requirements from QIC’s internal performance and accounting teams.
- Coach other team members with a focus on enhancing the operations and risk management culture within State Investments.

**About you**
You will be a highly organised and motivated individual who is able to identify issues before they arise. You will be welcomed with support and a collaborative team where we all succeed together mentality is at the forefront of our culture. You will also have:

- Tertiary qualifications in economics, finance, commerce, business, or other relevant field.
- Prior experience in the finance/funds management industry.
- Experience in project management with a strong focus on operational implementation.
- An understanding of investments and investment structures.
- Strong interest in and academic exposure to international economics, financial markets and the drivers of publicly traded markets (bonds, equities, currencies) at both the macro and micro levels.
- Experience with Microsoft office, preferably with intermediate Excel skills.
- A detailed understanding of portfolio analytics and data management.
- A high degree of stakeholder management and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- A strong team player approach and the desire to assist others.
