About You

Take on an important opportunity to manage and operate RMIT's key student surveys, providing actionable insights for management and senior executive on the voice of RMIT Students. Your role will concentrate on feedback mechanisms concerning courses, programs, and overall student experience, and you will also incorporate data from other relevant sources. This position enables you to contribute to evidence-based reporting and decision-making at RMIT, enhancing the academic environment through your professional expertise.

You will also be responsible for disseminating 'good practice' across RMIT and its partners regarding feedback mechanisms and will work with key individuals in the Education Portfolio as well as the Data and Analytics Unit to support the creation of quality reporting products for both technical and non-technical audiences.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have as a minimum:

- A strong analytical capability with the ability to inform and advise team efforts to achieve goals in programs of work.
- Leadership experience in managing and motivating a team
- Demonstrated ability to present and explain data to broad audiences and ensure relatable insights and analysis.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to mentor others across RMIT.
- Attention to detail and strong customer service mentality in an organization with competing and complex priorities.
- An understanding of data privacy and data protection laws and regulations in the context of student surveys.
- Highly proficient in data management platforms and, where appropriate, platforms including excel, VBA and other relevant languages.
- Desirable: Experience in the Higher Education sector, specifically in student surveys and feedback.

About the Portfolio

The Education Portfolio is headed by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education and Vice President who leads the planning and implementation of the University’s strategies related to RMIT’s academic programs and the RMIT student experience. The Portfolio is responsible for services to support the quality of RMIT programs, including the professional development of academic staff, continuous improvement of the student experience, learning and teaching outcomes and the management of learning and research information sources.

The Education Portfolio plays a key role in empowering students to access education, participate actively in the life of the University and achieve successful and fulfilling lives beyond graduation. The provision of a stimulating and satisfying experience for students is a priority for the University

The Centre for Academic Quality and Enhancement (CAQE) sits within the Education Portfolio under the direction of the Associate Deputy Vice Chancellor Education, Learning, Teaching and Quality. CAQE supports the attainment of academic standards across RMIT University. It provides an enterprise wide interpretive and evaluative function to ensure consistent process, practice and design in academic quality supporting continuous improvement and transparency in reporting of enterprise wide outcomes to key bodies and boards to support assurance compliance and enhancement’s and its operations drive consistency in design and direction across RMIT University to support academic quality and continuous improvement of all accredited programs and products, enhancing our student and staff experience. The Centre partners and collaborates with RMIT Colleges/Schools and other portfolios to support staff across the University to embed a culture of academic quality and enhancement.
