About the role
The Booking Officer is responsible for accurate clerical efficiency within the duties of their allocated work area to ensure a smooth theatre bookings process for all hospital patients. Theatre Bookings Officers provide an essential service to our patients, admitting doctors, Theatre Suites, Procedural Areas and the hospital as a whole. The position is Monday to Friday, part time, with a minimum of 2 days per week.
**Your main duties will include**:
Ensure day to day operations of the role are carried out in a timely and efficient manner
Data entry of theatre lists into our patient management system
Answering internal and external phone calls and actioning appropriately, escalating when required
Work collaboratively and in consultation with all hospital departments
Actively seek to meet the needs of internal / external customers and continually evaluate their response to ensure their needs are met.
About you
Current experience and transferable skills in a health care setting is desirable
Proven organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form with internal and external customers.
Sound knowledge of medical terminology
