**The Allied Health Department**

Alfred Health Allied Health Services comprises a number of allied health disciplines who provide patient-centred care across all clinical programs that operate at Alfred Health. Allied health disciplines provide patient centred care that will aim to optimise physical, psychosocial, communication and cognitive functioning. To ensure that the allied health workforce is fit for purpose, there is a robust governance structure that provides oversight of staff & student education, research, workforce innovation and quality & safety.
The Allied Health Professional Practice Framework underpins the work of Allied Health at Alfred Health in contributing to Alfred Health’s purpose.

**The Role**

This is a rare opportunity for a motivated and experienced Physiotherapist to become part of our allied health leadership team. We are looking for a Physiotherapist with strong leadership experience that cultivates a positive team culture, and innovates and drives excellence in patient-centred care. You will lead the Physiotherapy department that has had a long and valued relationship at Alfred Health. The department has accomplished much in improving patient outcomes and informing best practices in the industry. The department also has a proud history of clinical and academic excellence.

The department comprises approximately >100 EFT (operational) with an additional 40 professional reports, consisting of physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, allied health assistants and clinical support staff. As the Physiotherapy Manager, you will be the professional lead across Alfred Health and responsible for ensuring the physiotherapy and exercise physiologist workforce is fit for purpose and that the right person is completing the right task, at the right time. As a member of the allied health leadership group, you will also hold a clinical program portfolio lead role supporting the interdisciplinary allied health team in that clinical stream and be a strong advocate for allied health.

**Skills and Qualifications Required**
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without restrictions
- Post-graduate clinical qualifications or health services management/administration/ business management at Masters level or higher (desirable).
- Experience in the delivery and/or management of a physiotherapy service in a hospital environment
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary issues and directions of allied health services
- Extensive past experience in the supervision and mentoring of physiotherapists, students and support staff.
- An ability to monitor performance, lead and motivate staff and to ensure department standards are upheld
