We are seeking a dedicated and proactive safety professional, who will drive a safety culture and support our workforce.

We currently have two opportunities available in our busy Safety and Wellbeing team where you will leverage your extensive safety expertise on developing and implementing safety strategies and systems while maintaining our high standards in health, safety and compliance.

**About the Position**:
As part of the Safety and Wellbeing team, and the broader People and Safety Team, the Safety Business Partner will partner with their Directorate and be at the forefront of promoting a positive health and safety environment. You will:
Provide quality safety advice and support and promote a culture whereby leaders are conscious and committed to addressing and maintaining safety and wellbeing systems, awareness, responsibilities, and commitment.

Assist in the develop and review of the safety management system that aligns better practices with business needs across the organisation, including assisting with the development, review and implementation of Council’s safety policies, procedures, guidelines etc.

Proactively identifying improvement opportunities and implementing preventive measure.

Model and promote organisation-wide collaboration where the workforce actively engages in consultation, change management, continuous improvement, and learning.

Managing incident reports and incident investigations, ensuring the implementation of corrective action.

Assist with legislative role vacancies and training e.g., Health and Safety Representatives, Wardens, First Aiders etc.

Guide and support the effective operations of the Health and Wellbeing Committee/s.

Communicate clear information and actively participate in team meetings and discussions, openly discussing and supporting different approaches to achieve team goals.

**About You**:
Tertiary qualification in OHS with a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role.

High level of technical ability and expert knowledge in occupational health and safety and relevant legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice.

Proven track record and extensive experience in a Safety function in a business environment incorporating both office and field-based operation.

Demonstrated skills in change management and innovation which have resulted in significant improvement in business outcomes, processes, and systems.

Able to be agile and make swift, evidence-based decisions

A team player who demonstrates emotional intelligence, personal resilience, and tenacity.

**Requirement of the position**:
Satisfactory National Police Check; and

Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
