The Team Leader, Fingerprints role is presently required to work to a Rostered Operations work pattern attracting a 22% composite allowance additional to base salary.

What is the role?

The Team Leader, Fingerprint is responsible for the effective management of the Fingerprint Team and ensures that its supplies effective and efficient forensic support to AFP operations and external stakeholders.
As a Team Leader you also play a pivotal role in developing people, managing change and influencing behaviours that lead to a supportive culture that respects the perspectives, talents and value of each individual. Consistent with the AFP values, AFP leadership philosophy, organisational reform agendas, AFP corporate business plans and your Performance Development Agreement, the expectation is that you will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
The Team Leader role is to lead, manage, plan and develop the resources of the ACT Fingerprint Team, it also contributes to the achievement of business and investigation outcomes through the provision of specialised fingerprint examination and analysis.
This role will be responsible for the daily operational needs of ACT Fingerprint Team members. It involves the monitoring of the exhibit work, management of the NAFIS ten print and latent areas, overseeing staff development and training, liaising with other forensic disciplines, monitoring fingerprint involvements in cases and fulfilling Performance Development Agreements (PDA) for relevant staff.
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Has contemporary knowledge and experience relevant to the role.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant science, forensics, fingerprints and/or demonstrated appropriate level of knowledge, expertise and currency in fingerprints.
Demonstrated ability to lead a team.
