An exciting opportunity is available to join the Australia New Zealand Policing Advisory Agency (ANZPAA) as a Policy and Research Officer within the Innovation and Research Team.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Policy and Research Officer is responsible for supporting the successful achievement of the ANZPAA Strategy and Business Plan by working across a range of work items in support of the ANZPAA Board (Board) and Australia New Zealand Council for Police Professionalisation (ANZCoPP/the Council). The position supports stakeholder engagement, research, development of innovative solutions, and facilitates workshop and consultation meetings. The position will be responsible for preparing meeting papers, briefings, reports, presentations and manages the administration of policy projects where required.
The Innovation and Research Team is responsible for examining complex challenges, as well as proactively identifying emerging issues impacting strategic and operational environments for policing. The team regularly applies various research and strategic foresight methodologies, including emerging issues analysis, scenario planning and impact analysis with an aim to reduce uncertainty and identify areas of strategic policy reform that will support policing across Australia and New Zealand.
The Policy and Research Officer will have strong communication, problem solving, research methods and critical thinking capability. They will also have a proven ability in facilitation and presentation skills with challenging stakeholder groups. They will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and can build trusting relationships with stakeholders and team members alike. Successful applicants will demonstrate:

- a capacity for collaborating and supporting a high performing team culture
- experience working with senior executives and leaders.
This position is full-time fixed term until 30 June 2024, with opportunity for extension beyond this date.
