Wood is recruiting for an **Engineering Manager **to join our Minerals & Metals business in key leadership role on a Battery Metals Greenfields EPCM project. Based in Perth, you will work in close partnership with our Milan office supporting our client to deliver this major European project from now through to 2026. This is a permanent role and is available as full-time / part-time basis.

Reporting to the Technical Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the technical excellence of the engineering portion of a major European Greenfields EPCM project across all disciplines. You will also be responsible for coordinating and completing the various engineering, and start-up aspects of the project while meeting HSSE, quality, schedule, and budget performance goals.

You will contribute to the delivery of engineering excellence by:

- Driving technical assurance on the assigned scope(s) of work
- Managing and leading, supporting, and supervising the discipline engineering teams on the assigned scope(s) of work.
- Management of key stakeholders in the execution and delivery of contracted activities.
- Developing and retaining motivated and competent people.
- Undertaking the role of process owner.
- Driving safety by design
- Driving and leading on opportunities for innovation

Your dual focus on both technical delivery and relationships will be essential. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence and assurance on the project, while working in close partnership with other Wood offices and the client, to add value to the project.

**You will be an Australian citizen or be eligible to hold Permanent Residency (PR) to work lawfully in Australia.**

Suitably qualified with a degree in Engineering, Scientific Discipline, or related technical field, you will:

- Have proven experience in a similar in a role within a large engineering house.
- Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience with an understanding of human relations, training, performance evaluation, and health and safety.
- Be commercially astute, you will be a savvy negotiator and mediator, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energising diverse teams to adopt best practice, while driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.
- Be customer focused with an ability to develop sincere and open relationships with internal and external stakeholders, balancing with operational excellence to contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.

**What will set you apart will be your ability to influence and challenge others to both behave and perform in ways consistent with the interests of Wood and have successfully delivered a complex Greenfields EPCM within either Minerals & Metals / Oil & Gas sector.**
