**THE OPPORTUNITY**:
This is a permanent full-time (Monday to Friday) position based at our West Perth office, with ad-hoc travel to our Pilgangoora Operation in the Pilbara region as required.

Reporting to the Contract and Procurement Manager, the Principal Contracts Specialist will be responsible for the management of Non-Process Infrastructure suite of Contracts (as well as other major contracts) including leading the specialist resources allocated to each contract to ensure the delivery of contractual outcomes.

The position is also required to support the Contracts and Procurement Manager with the provision of timely contractual and commercial advice to the various functional areas within the projects, and to assist with the development of systems and processes for the projects (including management of cost and risk outcomes in the Contracts area, driving contractor behaviour to comply with agreed outcomes, and delivery of value-for-money to the business).

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Establish and monitor benchmarks for the teams’ performance and success, and assist with the leadership, shaping and modelling desired behaviours within the Contracts and Procurement team.
- Oversee and engage in tendering, negotiation, tender evaluation and awarding of contracts to deliver appropriate commercial outcomes for Pilbara Minerals.
- Develop and execute major/high-risk contracts, in consultation with stakeholders, especially operations and projects which include engineering and construction packages, whilst monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on contractor and service provider performance to develop contractor capability knowledge within Pilbara Minerals.
- Interpret relevant financial data and demonstrate awareness of the costs and financial implications of the work being undertaken while seeking opportunities to reduce costs or increase revenue.
- Other duties as required.

**ABOUT YOU**:

- An academic qualification in contracts and procurement, supply chain management, business or related discipline.
- Degree qualification in any Commercial or Legal discipline is desirable.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Contracts Lead position or higher within the Resources sector.
- An understanding of Contract law and general law.
- Experience within Contracts/Commercial department or related Commercial/Contracts role.
