**The Opportunity**

Come and discover the opportunity to join our PPAD (Plate Processing & Despatch) team at our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility as a **Plate Processing and Despatch Team Leader.** As a part of the broader Australian Steel Products portfolio, the PPAD team delivers superior plate products and innovative solutions and services to our export and domestic customers.

As an integral part of our steel making operations, the PPAD business is the final step in the manufacturing of our superior steel plate products at our Port Kembla site. Plate is received from the Plate Rolling Mill and is cut, finished and despatched, to our export and domestic customers.

In this role, working with the PPAD team - you will be the key point of contact for operational staff, focusing on shift coordination and providing sound leadership to a multi-skilled team. You’ll focus on the delivery of exceptional performance, whilst championing a safety-first culture.

**What Will You Do?**

You’ll lead and support your team, whilst building effective relationships, both internally and externally and be responsible for:

- successfully contributing to a safe working environment
- leading and supporting the shift operations to achieve business targets and ensure operations are within standards
- supervising the operational activities and striving for business improvements and manufacturing excellence
- leading, providing guidance and enhancing our manufacturing capability
- coaching, mentoring and developing the team to enhance capabilities

With your leadership experience, you’ll have the ability to make calculated decisions while working in a fast-paced environment. You will also have:

- either tertiary qualifications in engineering, science** or** process or experience working in a similar manufacturing area
- a safety-first mind-set, championing the care and wellbeing of yourself and others

- an ability to influence peers and colleagues to meet operational requirements, scheduling and people demands
- an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
