**Anglo American Steelmaking Coal**
Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland’s Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.

**Job Description**:

- Reporting to the Business Integration Manager, the Business Performance Specialist
- Performance Lead will coordinate, execute and continuously improve an IPP framework that will successfully deliver Steelmaking Coal’s preparation of business plans and meet the AAplc Business Planning Process and ambitions.

This role will see you manage both the alignment with AAplc and the continual improvement of dynamic planning capabilities from AAOM plus align with parallel improvements of the shorter-term planning processes (MOP).

This is a 12 month fixed term contract based in our Brisbane Corporate Office with flexible working arrangements available.

This role will be rewarding, varied and will include:

- Coordinating and scheduling the IPP (integrated planning process) annually, ensuring delivery of the consolidated plan and AAplc submission, ensuring alignment of budget input assumptions to business expectations to deliver a robust and achievable business plan
- Oversight of the SMC BU and AAplc business plan process, including schedule planning and stage gate alignment, management engagement for context setting and targets, functional and site coordination, monitoring adherence to process / governance, development of output direction and scheduling or workshops and presentations culminating in delivery of the consolidated business plan, submission and approval
- Preparation of Met Coal Business Expectations: determination, alignment with Group Business Expectations and communication to the business
- Preparation of presentations to deliver IPP messaging and results to SMC BU and AAplc
- Incorporating the advanced analytical support through AAOM
- Supporting the business performance in short to medium term analysis requirements and improvement work
- AAplc engagement and oversight of timing and delivery expectation and direction
- Senior management engagement at site and the SMC BU to inform and drive direction
- Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in finance, mining related discipline
- Extensive experience within a large, complex organisation coupled with the ability to think strategically, plan effectively and solve complex problems
- Ability to work in collaboration with the site leadership teams and functional teams who represent diverse areas of the business
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage and influence a wide range of stakeholders
- Innovative and strategic mindset
- Extensive operational and business improvement experience
- A proven track record of delivery of improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of the value chain, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of commodities
- Ability to take complex financial data and communicate it to a diverse audience of differing financial capabilities
