**A bit about the role**

The Municipal Emergency Resource Project Officer will work with a wide range of key stakeholders, including Councils, emergency services and the community to develop and deliver excellent Emergency Management outcomes for our communities.

Drawing on your Emergency Management skills and experience, you will establish and refine processes for Council’s emergency relief and recovery planning. Additionally, you will be able to translate high level Emergency Management policies into actionable items, educating the community to develop their sense of understanding and self-reliance in the face of emergencies.

**What you’ll deliver**
- Informative emergency management training exercises, aimed at educating the community and Council in responding to a wide range of emergencies
- A strong network of working relationships, including; Council staff, emergency services & agencies and members of the community
- Ensure statutory obligations under Emergency Management Act 2013, and Emergency Management Legislation Amendment Act 2018 are met in all aspects of work.
- Taking established Council Emergency Management to the next level, by refining and expanding current programs

**What you’ll bring**
- Established understanding of Emergency Management, with the ability to develop high level policy and translate this into actionable items for the community and Council
- Ability to strike a balance between working autonomously and collaboratively within the team
- Excellent community engagement and relationship building skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities and achieve great outcomes
- Qualifications in Emergency Management, Community Resilience, Community Development or related disciplines (Desirable)
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
