Gis Specialist

APG Workforce are currently looking for a GIS Specialist for a 12-month contract Government Sector based in Parramatta.

**Start Date**:ASAP

**End Date: 12 Months** + possible extension

**Pay Rate**: $100 Per Hour + super

**Location**:Parramatta - The role is a hybrid working arrangements with office attendance at Parramatta

**Purpose of Role**:
Connect enterprise datasets, ensuring that data is fit for purpose, in order to discover insights and provide

key information that is used in decision making about products and services across the asset value chain

**Key accountabilities of the role**

**Technical Accountabilities**:

- Application of analytical tools and algorithms to asset data
- Validation of business assumptions through what if analysis of asset and other data sets
- Spatial data acquisition, editing and management
- Spatial modelling and analysis including preparation of graphical and visualisation outputs
- Drive analyses and provide practical recommendations to influence LCS product and service strategy
- Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Explore data and discover patterns, meaningful relationships, anomalies and trends

**Skills**:

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at BI queries, report writing and presenting findings
- Strong project management skills including organisation, planning, and execution.
- Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including formal presentation skills for all levels.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with all levels of management, Sydney Water business partners, and external industry stakeholders.

**Experience**:

- Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages and Business Intelligence tools, preferably SAP Business Objects
- Experience with data that is used in asset management in water utility context
- Experience in BI Analytics and Data warehouse methodologies
- Experience in presenting data and information in visual forms to enable the business (e.g. spatially, dashboards, tables and graphs)
