**What you'll be doing**

The Clinical Midwifery Consultant provides expert clinical advice to patients/clients, carers and other health care professionals with complex healthcare needs. The Clinical Midwifery Consultant is a clinical expert who, through leadership, facilitates excellence in research based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The Clinical Midwifery Consultant models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.

**All NSW Health workers are required to have completed an up-to-date course of a COVID-19 vaccine (3 doses for Category A roles, 2 doses for Category B roles) which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW**.

**Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Please provide proof of vaccination if available**.

Successful applicants to the role must provide certified documentation of vaccination history and pathology as part of their recruitment documentation. The applicant must be certified as compliant with Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination Against Specified Infectious Diseases before employment can commence.
- Registered midwife with a current licence to practice from the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and current NSW Driver's License (if required by service).
- Minimum five years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least three years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field and post graduate qualifications relevant to the field of practice.
- Proven clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
- Proven ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the utilisation of evidence based research.
- Demonstrated skills in strategic and clinical service planning including an understanding of organisational behaviour, change management and cultural change processes.
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, competency in the use of contemporary information systems and experience in the development of specialty education programs.
- Demonstrated clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
