**About the Centre/Service**

Heidelberg Occasional Child Care Centre is a small not-for-profit organisation with a parent committee that governs the centre’s operations, in collaboration with the Centre Director. HOCC is licensed to provide education and care for 21 children per day & is currently undertaking transformational change to meet the needs of our community here in Banyule. HOCC is an Occasional Care early childhood service that has been operating in the Banyule community for 35 years and continues to offers care & education to children aged 6 months to 6 years of age, in a multi-age learning environment with a large natural outdoor environment. HOCC is an occasional care early childhood service and is therefore not regulated under the NQF so no mountains of paperwork We focus on nurturing responsive relationships with children & providing stimulating play spaces & intentional teaching, for children to thrive & to develop a love of lifelong learning. Heidelberg Occasional Child Care operates from 8.30am - 4.30pm (Monday, Tuesday and Thursday) and 9am - 2pm (Wednesday & Friday) throughout the year with a 4-week closure over the Christmas/ New Year period.

**Description**

We are currently seeking Diploma trained Early Childhood Educators for our Occasional Care Centre in Heidelberg Heights. We have a part time role available, Role will consist of 37.5 hours per week. The position to commence as soon as possible. Core duties include:
support teachers by contributing to a range of planning and documentation practices within the program.

supervise spontaneous and/or planned experiences when working with small groups of children in our indoor and outdoor learning environments.

Engage in reflective practice when creating routines and engaging learning spaces in collaboration with the teacher for the children and families

actively contribute to establishing a collaborative culture both in the classroom and workplace where teamwork and respect for each other is paramount.

Engage in intentional teaching with the children, to scaffold & extend on their learning and development.

Write observations to assist in the development of the educational program & assessments of learning.

You will be creative, flexible, enthusiastic and have the ability to use your initiative as a member of the team.
