About the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
Founded in 2001, the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre (ASRC) is Australia’s largest human rights organisation providing support to people seeking asylum. We are an independent not-for-profit organisation whose programs support and empower people seeking asylum to maximise their own physical, mental and social well being. About The Role
The Health Program Manager is the most senior Health role within the ASRC, with overall accountability for the quality and impact of the ASRC’s Health Program. This role ensures that the program continually delivers an integrative approach to service access and information to people while in the refugee determination process
Leading a multidisciplinary clinic and team that offers a number of services including general practice, immunisation, psychiatry, pharmacy program and allied health services, this nurse-led clinic works in partnership with other services within the Humanitarian Operations and Resilience Department to ensure a seamless service delivery and experience for all of the ASRC’s clients.
This role is critical in ensuring the ASRC is effectively data-driven, productively partnered and a powerful advocate in ensuring Australia’s most recognised voices in the defence of asylum seekers’ right to a healthy life.
About You

- Relevant Master’s degree or higher and/or demonstrated commensurate service delivery and management experience
- Demonstrated experience in a combination of technical, research, and public advocacy within the health sector
- Proven experience creating and managing high-performing teams including building shared objectives, quality control, evaluation, motivation, performance management, staff development and training
- Proven ability to independently manage complex workloads and prepare written reports on program outcomes for a wide range of stakeholders
- A clear understanding of and commitment to inequality and anti-discriminatory practice e.g. gender and disability analysis in informing programmes and policy
- High degree of flexibility and adaptability with the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment
- Current CPR and First Aid certificates

Lived experience of seeking asylum in Australia is highly desirable.
Knowledge of policy and issues impacting on people seeking asylum in Australia as well as previous experience working within a not-for-profit environment, would also be advantageous.
