**Job description**:
**Primary purpose of the role**:
The Data Governance Analyst supports the implementation and maturing of our Data Governance capabilities across firm. You are expected to support and extend the use of Data Management tools that manage our metadata, data lineage and data quality. As a valued member of the Data Management team, you will be part of the transformation and uplift of Data Governance.

**Key accountability**:

- Review proposals for change, make recommendations, and provide specialist advice on Data Governance policies, systems, processes, and controls, and their implementation using existing Data Management tools.
- Provide guidance and specialist advise to stakeholders to ensure alignment and/or compliance with Data Governance framework, standards, guidelines, and best practise.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of Data Governance through the introduction and adoption of industry best practices and the development of new or better organisational practices, processes, and standards.
- Work with the rest of the Data Management team in the capture and organisation of knowledge assets and the oversight of the Data Management lifecycle, including the identification, capture, classification, storage, and maintenance of assets in the Data Management tools.

**Essential requirements**:

- Minimum of 4 years experience in a data role, Sound knowledge of data analysis, knowing SQL is an advantage, advanced Excel, to cleanse and manipulate data, and/or build reports
- Hands on experience in Data Mining, built or defined Data Quality rules in a line of business either writing SQL Scripts or using tools such as Informatica Data Quality
- Experience working on and sound understanding of data lakes, data warehouses, and data marts
- Experience in the creation and maintenance of data dictionaries, management of metadata, and/or maintenance of master and reference data
- Experience as a workshops contrinbutor with demonstrable experience building strong relationships with peers, stakeholders, and working with them to deliver relevant data analysis and/or actionable business insights and solutions that create value.
